Invited by the art gallery ARTSI at Siilinjärvi, Central Finland, Mare Saare had an individual exhibition there in the summer of 2007.
“Ihmisen kuvat” – “Pictures of Human” deals with the issue which seems to become more and more important in the human life today, and namely how much may one, does one have to change, to reconsider one’s convictions, to succumb to outside influences, to give and to take, to sacrifice, without falling a victim oneself. Human faces, modeled in glass, often only their details, are placed by the author upon different surfaces, into different circumstances to research and document these changes.
