2004 Focus

From August 12 to August 23, the Hobusepea Gallery in Tallinn hosts a show organized by the Estonian Glass Artists Union. This miniature (or “pocket”) exhibition is titled “Focus” and presents small scale artworks of glass.
In Latin, “focus” signifies a hearth, a fireplace, the centre and heart of the house.
In physics, the term refers to a point in space where rays of light concentrate after refraction or reflection.
Focus – it’s a central point, it is something vitally important.
Focusing = concentrating on a spot of interest; setting something in focus; sharpening a point of view.
And why not focus on a hocus-pocus!
The limitations to the works are set scalewise; a piece may not exceed the measures of 10 by 10 by 10 centimeters. The works may be flat or spatial, and may use any glass techniques.
