Violence and aggression have become widespread in today\u2019s world. Modern technology is killing our sensitivity. The bloody execution of American reporter James Foley was seen by millions of people around the globe through the Internet.<br \/>\n<\/em><em>We protest the killing of animals, and we make a public spectacle out of the death of a man.\u00a0<\/em><em>We are becoming more and more refined in our cruelty. And increasingly indifferent toward\u00a0<\/em><em>violence and death.<br \/>\n<\/em><em>Animal Planet. A Planet of People. Our shared contemporary world.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Anita Bialic<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>About Festival<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><em>A fantastic initiative. A cosmic atmosphere and close encounter of the third kind with art that brings the whole family together. BRAVO&#8230; Viewing this exhibition you can forget about the problems all around us. It is splendid&#8230; Pleasing to the eye and soothing to the soul. A beautiful exhibition..<br \/>\n<\/em>Will\u00a0<em>Animal Planet<\/em>, the main exhibition of the 3rd edition of the\u00a0<em>Play with Glass\u00a0<\/em>European Glass Festival, stoke the same enthusiasm that\u00a0<em>UFO Unique Form Object\u00a0<\/em>did last year at\u00a0Wroc\u0142aw\u2019s\u00a0Main\u00a0Station?<\/p>\n<p>Surprise and delight at the fact that glass is such an unusual material, that it creates so many opportunities for artistic expression, are the finest rewards for the enormous amount of work and effort we put into preparing the festival events.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Play with Glass\u00a0<\/em>European Glass Festival\u00a0is not only the main exhibition, featuring eighteen artists from fourteen European countries (last year it was sixteen participants from twelve countries), hosted once more by the 19th-century Wroc\u0142aw Central Train Station. It is also exhibitions featuring Polish and European artists who create one-of-a-kind objects made of or using glass, an international seminar devoted\u00a0to the European art\u00a0of\u00a0glass at\u00a0the E. Geppert Academy of Art and Design in\u00a0Wroc\u0142aw, meetings with artists\u2026<\/p>\n<p>The festival will also include the\u00a0<em>Glass Display Case\u00a0<\/em>project, an\u00a0<em>Open House\u00a0<\/em>at the Academy of Art and Design in\u00a0Wroc\u0142aw, a\u00a0<em>Studio<\/em><em>\u00a0Open House\u00a0<\/em>for glass artists from Wroc\u0142aw and Lower Silesia,\u00a0<em>Wroc\u0142aw &#8211;<\/em>\u00a0<em>A Microcosmos<\/em><em>\u00a0of Events\u00a0<\/em>\u2013 art workshops for \u201cdifficult young people\u201d and families with children, a walk through Wroc\u0142aw on the \u201cglass architecture route,\u201d and a\u00a0<em>Glass Bus<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Glass Display Case\u00a0<\/em>project was set in motion by students from the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass\u00a0at the\u00a0Academy\u00a0of\u00a0Art\u00a0and Design in\u00a0Wroc\u0142aw\u00a0as a joint\u00a0project. Entering the \u201cliving\u201d space of the city\u00a0with their projects, they could see the direct impact of their work on the viewer. The store or cafe\u00a0display windows on busy streets provide significantly greater opportunities for public exposure\u00a0than a gallery or museum.<\/p>\n<p><em>Glass in Wroc\u0142aw\u2019s Urban Space\u00a0<\/em>is\u00a0a totally new\u00a0project, for there had never before been literature available on\u00a0Wroc\u0142aw\u2019s glass architecture. We have described 54 of\u00a0Wroc\u0142aw\u2019s glass architectural works. Fourteen of these are on\u00a0Wroc\u0142aw\u2019s first \u201cglass route.\u201d We decided to bring them to light and make an inventory of the glass artwork in the city\u2019s public buildings and churches, in its squares and streets&#8230; We had to do some meticulous detective work to track down the creators of these glass works of art and check all the information they passed down. We hope that the \u201cWroc\u0142aw\u00a0Old\u00a0Town\u00a0Glass Route\u201d will be one of the most important attractions in\u00a0Wroc\u0142aw, the \u201ccity of glass.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Play with Glass\u00a0<\/em>European Glass Festival\u00a0is generating increasing interest in\u00a0Wroc\u0142aw\u00a0and Lower\u00a0Silesia, and also throughout\u00a0Poland\u00a0and abroad. The enormous popularity of the material we post on Facebook and the numerous comments we receive from around the world have convinced us that we are doing vital work in popularizing glass as an important medium in contemporary art.<\/p>\n<p>Anita Bialic,\u00a0Kazimierz Pawlak<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The\u00a0<em>Play with Glass\u00a0<\/em>\u2013\u00a0European Glass Festival\u00a0project, designed\u00a0by Anita\u00a0Bialic, BB Gallery\u00a0<\/strong><strong>and Professor\u00a0Kazimierz Pawlak, the\u00a0EugeniuszGeppert\u00a0Academy\u00a0of Art and Design in\u00a0Wroc\u0142aw, was included in\u00a0Wroc\u0142aw\u2019s application for the title of European Capital of Culture 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>EGF is organized annually by the BB Gallery and the Fly with\u00a0Art Foundation\u00a0in close cooperation with the Municipality of Wroc\u0142aw, the E.
