{"id":2002,"date":"2012-06-07T17:18:49","date_gmt":"2012-06-07T17:18:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/klaasikunst.ee\/?p=2002"},"modified":"2014-02-13T19:07:18","modified_gmt":"2014-02-13T19:07:18","slug":"2012-grand-fragility-in-tallinn-art-hall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/klaasikunst.ee\/?p=2002","title":{"rendered":"2012 GRAND FRAGILITY in Tallinn Art Hall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Estonian glass art celebrates its 75th jubilee with a grand installative exhibition \u201eGrand Fragility\u201c from 9 June to 22 July in Tallinn Art Hall.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Glass will be presented in various ways \u2013 in its everyday, tense and controversial fragility that the artists face daily, talking about topics that touch them through the material and its most characteristic feature.<br \/>\nThe main collection of the exhibition consists of specially made series and installations. Some of the best works and projects in glass art from the last year will also be presented. One part of the exhibition presents more than 30 musical instruments made of glass for one of the highlight events of the European Capital of Culture project \u201eWorld of Glass\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the fragility of the material itself also some topics addressed by the artists involve fragility i.e. of the environment (Mare Saare, Ivo Lill), civilization (Rait R\u00e4\u00e4ts), human soul (Kai Kiudsoo-V\u00e4rv, Kati Kerstna); or the fragility of social order and architecture (Tiina Sarapu, Helena Kreem) \u2013 topics, that will be presented with the material epitome of fragility.<\/p>\n<p>The design of the exhibition is created by Dutch artist Jan Scheernhoorn. He bases his work on the room itself that emerges as an integral part of the art work presented.
